At the heart of Altura Expeditions is Alberto Viseras, a mountaineer whose life has been defined by the world’s most iconic skylines. Over the last decade, Alberto has explored peaks across 48 countries, from the windswept trails of Patagonia and Tasmania to technical summits like Annapurna IV (7,525m), Island Peak, and Lobuche West. However, Alberto brings more than just a backpack to the trail; he brings a precision mindset. With a background as an AI Product Manager for the German Aerospace Agency and giants like Audi, BMW, and Siemens, Alberto applies the same rigorous standards of safety, logistics, and detail used in aerospace engineering to the world of mountain expeditions.

From the Himalayas to the World

Altura Expeditions didn't start in a boardroom; it began in the thin air of the high mountains. We initially specialized in the vertical world of Nepal, managing the complex logistics and high stakes of Himalayan trekking and climbing. Our roots are in the "Big Mountains," where there is zero room for error and where success is built on local expertise, physical endurance, and meticulous planning. This specialized experience in Nepal remains the backbone of our company’s DNA.

As our reputation grew, we noticed a recurring request from our international clients: they wanted the same level of professional, "high-altitude" organization applied to the stunning mountains of Spain. We listened. Today, we specialize in offering uncertainty-free, self-guided trips in the Pyrenees. We have taken the elite standards used in 7,000-meter expeditions—impeccable route planning, logistical precision, and deep terrain knowledge—and scaled them for the independent hiker.
