"Cavalls del Vent" ("Horses of the Wind") is an iconic circular trek through the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. The journey traverses limestone massifs, high-altitude meadows and dense pine forests, linking eight mountain refuges. It blends technical ridge walking with Mediterranean mountain charm, named for the feeling of the wind galloping across the high plateaus of the Cadí range.

Arrival in Gresolet
Access to the valley under the watchful eye of the Pedraforca summit, sleeping at the trailhead.
The northern wall
A strenuous climb through the Pas dels Gosolans (2,430 m), crossing from the southern slope to the northern face of the Cadí, ending at the scenic Prat d'Aguiló.
The high plateaus
Traverse the northern ridges and meadows where the isards roam, with constant views of the Cerdanya valley, before descending to Serrat de les Esposes.
Climb to the nest
A steady ascent following the Moixeró crest to Niu de l'Àliga, the highest point of the trek, set right on the summit of Tosa d'Alp.
The steep descent
A shorter, technical descent following the mountain's spine to the cozy, traditional Rebost refuge tucked into the forest.
The wild south
Cross deep forests and hidden valleys through some of the most secluded corners of the park to the remote Sant Jordi refuge.
The Empedrats & loop closure
Descend the Empedrats canyon, a natural wonder of limestone and waterfalls, and complete the circuit back to the start. End of operations.

The Gresolet trailhead in the Cadí-Moixeró is not served by a public line.
From Barcelona it is about 2 h up the C-16 to the Berguedà and into the Gresolet valley.
A private return transfer from Barcelona airport to the Gresolet trailhead is bookable on request.

How booking works.
We authorize 20% on your card to lock your spot. Nothing is charged yet — the hold is only captured once your huts are confirmed.
A guide then calls every refuge and inn by hand to lock your nights, usually within 48h. Only when they're all confirmed do we capture the deposit. If one's full we propose alternative dates — and if nothing fits, the hold is released in full, never charged.
The remaining balance falls due 60 days before you set off. We send a reminder.
Card at checkout, or pay by bank transfer for a 5% discount on the total.
Once your huts are confirmed the deposit secures real logistics and is non-refundable — but in force majeure we rebook you onto alternate dates at minimal cost.
