A linear traverse connecting the vertical limestone cathedrals of Ordesa National Park with the granite peaks and alpine lakes of the Panticosa circuit. The route follows water in all its forms — from the thundering waterfalls of the canyon, up the wild Ara valley and over the Collado de Brazato, past the high blue lakes, to the thermal springs of Balneario de Panticosa. It moves from the green meadows of Bujaruelo to the stark high-altitude moonscape of the Brazato basin, balancing demanding mountain stages with quality hospitality and a luxury spa finish.

Arrival at the mountain village of Torla, gateway to Ordesa National Park. Check in to a mountain refugio (private room with bunk beds, shared bathroom) and settle in for the days ahead.
A spectacular warm-up into the heart of Ordesa: up the Senda de los Cazadores to the Faja de Pelay, a balcony path traversing the canyon wall near 2,000 m, on to the Cola de Caballo waterfall and back down the Arazas valley to Torla.
A gentler day through fir and beech forest, following the GR-11 and the Camino de Turieto along the Ara to the historic hamlet of San Nicolás de Bujaruelo, with its Romanesque bridge and medieval church ruins.
The most demanding day of the traverse — up the wild Ara valley and the steep Collado de Brazato (2,570 m), then down past the Brazato lakes through dramatic granite terrain to the modern Refugio de Bachimaña beside the reservoir.
A light-pack day circling the upper Bachimaña basin to the Ibones Azules (Blue Lakes) at the foot of the Picos del Infierno, returning to the refuge for a second night.
A short, sharp descent via the Cuesta del Fraile beside the Caldarés waterfall to the Balneario de Panticosa. Settle into the hotel; the thermal spa can be booked directly for a well-earned recovery session.
Final breakfast in the Pyrenees, checkout and departure (car return or onward public-transport connections). End of operations.
The meals included each night are marked above. Where a meal isn't ticked, we point you to the best shop, bakery or refuge kitchen to stock up.
