Cookie Policy
LAST_UPDATED · July 6, 2026
This policy explains the cookies we set, why, and how you stay in control — the essentials that keep the site and your booking running, and the analytics and marketing cookies that are entirely your call.
1 · What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let the site remember your actions and preferences, keep a booking flow working across pages, and — where you allow it — help us understand how the site is used and measure our advertising. This policy explains the cookies we set and how you control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
2 · How we ask for consent
When you first visit, we show a short banner. Essential cookies that keep the site and your booking running stay on no matter what — they don’t need consent. Analytics and marketing cookies are entirely your call: they load only after you choose “Accept all”. Choose “Reject all” and we set none of them. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser, which brings the banner back.
3 · The categories we use
- Strictly necessary — security, load balancing, and remembering your cookie choice and booking progress. The site cannot function without these, so they are always on.
- Analytics — with your consent, so we can see which pages and routes people use and where the experience can be better.
- Marketing — with your consent, so we can measure the ads that bring people to us and avoid showing you the same thing repeatedly.
4 · Third-party services that set cookies
Some tools we rely on set their own cookies. We only load the non-essential ones after you consent:
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymous usage measurement (analytics). Until you consent we run it in a cookieless mode that sets no identifying cookies.
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and TikTok — advertising measurement, if you consent (marketing).
- Stripe — fraud prevention and secure checkout; set when you reach the payment step (essential to completing a booking).
- HubSpot — the planning-call scheduler; sets cookies when you open and use it.
5 · Managing cookies in your browser
Beyond our banner, you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and set most browsers to warn you before a cookie is stored. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the site — including the booking flow. Guides for the common browsers are on aboutcookies.org.
6 · Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the tools we use change; the “last updated” date above always shows the current version. Any question about cookies or your data — email info@alturaexpeditions.com.
Questions about any of this? Email info@alturaexpeditions.com or message us on WhatsApp — we'd rather you ask than wonder.
